Eric Justin White

Currently seeking both a BFA in Art Education and a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Sculpture at East Carolina University, much of my work seeks to create a dialog about the delicate balance between mankind and nature. Each affects the other, both good and bad, and both are inevitably intertwined.

I am currently exploring many sculptural media, including wood and stone carving, fabricated steel, and cast iron, aluminum, and bronze. Most recently, I've been exploring casting metal around carved soapstone. Casting, to me, is a very unique experience, and turning a material that is naturally rigid and solid into a flowing form is quite an amazing thing.

One of my other great passions is woodworking, and I take great joy in designing and creating custom furniture and woodwork. Creating work that can can have beautiful aesthetic qualities on its own and also serve a functional purpose is something I truly enjoy.

I am always open to accepting commissions, both small and large, and will gladly work with you to create a piece that you will enjoy. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.
